Privacy Policy

This document has been prepared for internal review and has not yet been reviewed by external legal counsel. External counsel review is required before public launch.

This Privacy Policy explains how Tier Partners collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Tier platform.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Name, email address, and application pitch when you apply.
Password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot recover it).
Payout method and handle (e.g., PayPal email, Venmo username).
Any other information you voluntarily submit via the platform.

Information collected automatically

IP address and user-agent at time of application submission (for agreement acceptance records).
Authentication tokens (JWT access tokens valid for 30 minutes; refresh tokens stored as a hash, valid for 30 days).
Sales and commission records associated with your account.
Audit log entries recording administrative actions affecting your account.

2. How we use your information

To process your application and manage your seller account.
To calculate and pay commissions.
To send transactional emails (application status, payout notifications, rank promotions).
To comply with legal obligations, including FTC income disclosure requirements.
To detect and prevent fraud.

3. Data sharing

Tier does not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Payment processors: To issue payouts to your designated method.
Email service providers: To send transactional emails on our behalf.
Infrastructure providers: Cloud hosting, database, and CDN services that store and transmit data on our behalf.
Law enforcement: When required by applicable law or legal process.

4. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, audit, and dispute resolution requirements. Commission and payout records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax and regulatory purposes.

5. Security

Passwords are hashed using Argon2id. Sensitive financial data (payout account details) is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Data is transmitted over TLS. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@tier.partners.

7. Cookies

The Tier platform uses minimal cookies: a session cookie for authentication state and, on the marketing site, a cookie to track which seller referred a visitor (7-day expiry). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
